Now the parking goons have some more advanced tech up their sleeves, fine-giving-efficiency is up 100%.
General niceness is now down 99%. 1% margin of error.
I was actually under the assumption that ALL parking spaces in the city were already decked out with these. So the 'revelation' that they are only now being rolled out is a bit surprising (you thought the parking goons were efficient before? Just wait!).

Now we also have 'Pay-by-phone' parking, this is being rolled out only in Carlton at the moment.
Perhaps its just my general paranoia here, but doesn't linking your phone to your car, where you are at a point in time and long you intend to stay just reek of privacy invasion?

No?
Well how about this?

Yessir! That's right, cars, driving about at 40 kilometres per hour constantly recording and identifying vehicles by their number plates of EVERY car.
Well damn. Here I wasn't being watched enough by the hundreds of cameras in the CBD.
Not sure what anyone can do about it (short of taking out the cameras ^_^ )
