Money!

To re-hash what Bill Hicks once said:
(with slightly less American slang)

"It is ALL about money, not freedom. Understand? It's got NOTHING to do with fuckin' freedom. If you think you're free, try going somewhere without fucking money."



Simple concept really, but one that seems to slip by many people.
We are controlled by money. Plain and simple. You CAN get around and do things without it, its not impossible. But its certainly not easy.
Money has existed since person 1 had something that person 2 wanted. It might not have always been shiny coins, but something was always traded.

Living self-sufficiently means instead of working for 'The Man' you're working for yourself. The biggest problem though, is that you have to work a lot harder, for a lot less reward. It's easier to work for someone else.
